Conference
24 October 2024First KiVa school in Switzerland since 2020, the Institut International de Lancy organised a conference on school bullying on 18 September, bringing together several experts.
On this occasion, Mrs Viviane Châtel, Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Politics at the University of Fribourg, provided an overview of the fight against bullying in Switzerland. Mrs Céline Kylänpää, Head of KiVa International, and Mrs Anna Murgo, KiVa Programme Coordinator, both from the University of Turku, Finland, then presented research findings on anti-bullying efforts. The Director General of the Institut International de Lancy, Mrs Monique Roiné, explained the reasons why IIL decided to adopt the Finnish KiVa anti-bullying programme, while Mrs Amélie Rochais, KiVa Coordinator at IIL, outlined the key aspects of the programme.
Dr Rebecca Weber, a Psychologist-Psychotherapist specialising in paediatric consultations in Geneva, then joined the experts to answer questions from the audience. This led to some particularly enriching discussions with the educational community and the parents attending.
Mrs Eléonore Zottos, Deputy Secretary General of the Department of Public Education, Training, and Youth (DIP), and a delegation from the National Education Department of the Lille Academy also took part in the event.
Since 2023, IIL has been a certified partner of the KiVa programme. It provides support and training, in Switzerland and internationally, to schools that wish to implement this programme and offer students a serene and nurturing learning environment.
These initiatives reflect IIL’s commitment to an education that fosters both personal development and academic knowledge.
