Diplomas & Accreditations
English Secondary
IIL is an IB World School authorised to teach both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programmes (IBDP) and the Cambridge International General Certificate in Secondary Education (IGCSE). Furthermore, the school is a Cambridge University examination centre.
French Secondary
We prepare students to sit the Diplôme National du Brevet examination at the end of Lower Secondary in class of 3e and to sit the French Baccalaureate exams at the end of Upper Secondary (Lycée). We are administratively under the aegis of the Rectorat de Grenoble for these exams.
Bilingual students in the French Curriculum who have followed English lessons in English Secondary can also sit the IGCSE English exams in class of 3e and Literature in class of 2de.
The school prepares students for different language certifications throughout their education, depending on classes and languages taught:
- English: Cambridge Exams
- French : DELF
- German: Goethe
- Spanish : DELE Cervantes
- Chinese : Confucius
- Italian : Dante
The school holds memberships in the Geneva Association of Private Schools (AGEP), the Groupement des Ecoles Suisses qui préparent au Baccalauréat Français (GESBF), the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS), and the Swiss Federation of Private Schools (SFPS), the Groupement Romand des Ecoles de Maturité (GREM).
IIL was awarded the Quality School Certificate (QSC) in May 2009 by ProCert, an independent auditor and certification organisation in Switzerland.
In 2016, IIL became the first Apple Distinguished School in Switzerland.
As of 2020, IIL is now the first school in Switzerland accredited to implement the Finnish anti-bullying programme, KiVa.
In 2021, the English Primary received the label FrancEducation in recognition of its outstanding French language education.
Thanks to its efforts and concrete actions around ecological awareness, IIL obtained the prestigious Eco Schools label in 2023.
IIL also became an ISO 21001 certified school in 2023.
