Don du Choeur Concert
7 June 2023On May 1st, around 400 children from eight private schools in Geneva took part in the 7th Don du Chœur charity concert at the iconic Victoria Hall. It was an incredible performance and an unforgettable experience for these children aged between 7 and 11.
Don du Chœur is a Swiss not-for-profit association founded in 2003 to give disadvantaged children around the world a better future. Thanks to its charity concerts, which take place every three years, it initiates the financing of targeted educational projects, such as the renovation or construction of schools or orphanages in underprivileged countries.
This year, the funds raised will go towards extending the rural school created by the association in Cambodia in 2011 and supporting children already attending school in southern Madagascar.
“It is a huge opportunity for these children to be able to take part in such a charitable project. It echoes IIL’s heritage deeply rooted in humanitarian work. We are very keen to introduce our students to solidarity projects, and to pass on to them the idea that everyone can make a difference.
We really enjoyed listening to them sing at the Victoria Hall and are extremely proud of them,” says Monique Roiné, Director General of theInstitut International de Lancy.
