Football option Meeting with Alain Geiger

At the beginning of November, our 6ème, 5ème, Y8 and Y7 football option students had the chance to meet Alain Geiger, one of the most capped Swiss football players and a renowned coach, at the Institut International de Lancy.

The former defender talked about his long career, including with the Swiss national team, and answered many questions from the curious young footballers. He told them anecdotes while sharing his expertise, discussing the role of the coach and the links between football and society. The students carefully listened to the advice given by the sportsman, who then took part in an interview in the IIL radio studio, followed by an impromptu autograph session.

The students were delighted to be able to interact with Alain Geiger, and there is no doubt that they will remember this day for a long time!

The Institut International de Lancy offers a football option since 2022, in partnership with Foot Lab, an innovative training programme developed by Patrick La Spina and recognised for having designed the methodology chosen by Zinédine Zidane for his clubs, the Zidane Five Club. Integrated into the school curriculum, this option allows students to learn through their passion. In addition to the weekly training sessions, part of the pedagological programme is focused on football, including theory lessons on football culture and health. The personal development of the child, in all its dimensions, is at the heart of the approach.
