IIL welcomes Sir Michael Morpurgo
19 January 2024What a joy it was to welcome author Sir Michael Morpurgo and his wife Lady Clare Morpurgo to our school!
Students and teachers from across IIL enjoyed listening to Michael speak in our Q&A session or read in the library with some of our younger students. Together we enjoyed poetry and stories, learnt about the importance of storytelling in understanding the world around us, and celebrated our new library at its official inauguration.
The warmth, wisdom and generosity of our guests – who, between official engagements, shook hundreds of hands and chatted with the many aspiring young writers and keen readers who sought them out – made for an unforgettable day. Our thanks to them for being with us and encouraging our love of literature.
