What to know
If you are planning to relocate to Geneva and are not familiar with the city or with Switzerland, here are a few tips.
The Swiss run their school systems on a cantonal rather than national level, with each canton overseeing its own system. As a member of the Geneva Association of Private Schools (AGEP), Institut International de Lancy (IIL) cooperates with the Geneva Department of Education (Département de l’instruction publique, de la formation et de la jeunesse – DIP).
We follow the curricula of the French Ministry of National Education (Ministère de l’education nationale) in the French section and the National Curriculum of England, IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes in the English section.
IIL is located in Grand-Lancy, a calm, leafy suburb close to the centre of Geneva. The campus is easily accessible by public transport and several buses and trams stop within a few hundred metres of the school gates. Access to the motorway is only a few minutes away. We provide daily school bus transport for students of all ages.
APEIIL, our parents’ association, offers friendly and practical information and is happy to help with any practical questions parents or guardians may have.
